syncNote:

• PLEASE be on time as the boat departs promptly.
• This is a "rain or shine" event which means we paddle when it rains (we get wet anyway).
• On Saturday after paddling we gather by the beach for drinks and chat. After that some of us go to a local Chinese cafe (fondly known as "Hotel Harbin") for great food, lots of beer and more chat.

What to wear and bring:

• Shorts + T-shirt. You will get wet so you might want to bring a spare set.
• Sun block. • Sunglasses: optional (helps with keeping the water out of your eyes.)

Cost:

• $15.00 for training Saturday and $5.00 for weekdays. This covers cost of coach and equipment (and drinks on Saturday).
• A Membership fee of $100.00 annually is required after your 3rd paddling session. As a member you receive a discount card for use at our sponsor's outlets; The Penny Black, Durty Nelly's and Scruffy Murphy's Irish pubs.

Training includes:

• Preparation of the boat and equipment.
• Warm up.
• Instruction for beginners by the coach and other experienced padders (so no need to be afraid if you've never paddled before).
• Technique exercises.
• Endurance drills, etc.
• Preparation for dragon boat races (regattas).
